How much is the Mobile Phone Backup service?
- Downloading the settings on your mobile phone and activating the service in Belgium are completely free of charge.
- For each synchronization you pay €0.75, and if you combine the synchronization of your mobile data with a synchronization of your SIM data within 30 minutes, the second synchronization is completely free of charge.
- As a subscriber, you can also purchase the Mobile Phone Backup package, which allows you to synchronize 1,000 times for €2 per month. You can purchase this package on your Mobile Phone Backup account via My Proximus.

Do I have to pay for data usage when I am synchronizing?
- In Belgium, data usage is not billed during a synchronization: you only pay per synchronization (€0.75) or according to the €2 package you purchased.
- Abroad, however, you will be billed for data usage, on top of the price per synchronization or according to your package.

Do I need special settings on my phone to use the Mobile Phone Backup service?
As soon as you have activated the Mobile Phone Backup service (provided your phone is compatible), you will receive a message with the settings you need to install on your phone.
- Open the SMS with the settings, accept them and save them onto your phone. Now your mobile phone will have the settings you need to use the Mobile Phone Backup service.
If you activate the service via MyProximus, you will receive step-for-step instructions on how to install everything.

Which type of data can I synchronize with the Mobile Phone Backup service?
This depends on your type of phone and whether you synchronize your mobile-phone data or SIM data.
- If you synchronize your SIM data, you can only synchronize the contacts on your SIM card.
- If you synchronize your mobile-phone data, then it depends on your type of phone: with certain phones, you can also synchronize your text messages, ringtones, images and videos, besides your contacts, notes, tasks and calendar.

I don't have access to Vodafone live! Can I still use the Mobile Phone Backup service?
No. To be able to synchronize, you must have access to Vodafone live!
If you do not have access, this may be for
one of two reasons:
- You have blocked your access to Vodafone live! In that case, call our customer service at 6000 (toll-free) to unblock it.
- Your phone does not have the right settings for Vodafone live! Read here how to manually install the settings on your mobile phone.

How do I know if Mobile Phone Backup will work on my mobile phone?
At the start of the registration procedure for the service (in MyProximus/MyPay&Go via the "Select Mobile Phone Backup" link in the "My mobile phone" category), you must select your type of phone from a list of compatible phones.
If your phone does not appear on the list, we can offer you
another solution for synchronizing your
SIM data using a compatible SIM card.

Can I synchronize my SIM data, just like my mobile-phone data, with my mobile phone?
If you also want to synchronize your SIM card data, you need a special SIM card with the Mobile Phone Backup logo on it. You can obtain these SIM cards for free in one of our
points-of-sale, and you can keep your telephone number.

I am a Pay&Go user: can I also use the Mobile Phone Backup service?
Of course! via the online services of MyPay&Go, you have access to the Mobile Phone Backup service and the same options as a subscriber.
You can also purchase
extra storage space. In that case, the amount is deducted from your calling credit. It is therefore important that you have sufficient credit on your Pay&Go card.

I have just activated Mobile Phone Backup: can I synchronize immediately?
If the activation process is successful (this can take up to 72 hours), we will send you
a confirmation SMS.
- If you have not received a confirmation within 72 hours, this means that an error occurred during the activation process. In that case, you will receive an SMS message informing you that the creation of your Mobile Phone Backup account has failed and that you must try again.
We therefore advise you to wait for this confirmation message. If the creation of your account was not successful, you may have lost all the data that was already synchronized.

Can I also synchronize abroad?

If you want to synchronize yourtelephone data while abroad, you can use Mobile Phone Backup.

If, however, you want to synchronize your SIM data (with the compatible SIM card) while abroad, this is not possible.

What happens if I don't synchronize for a while: is the Mobile Phone Backup service automatically deactivated?
If you do not synchronize for 12 months, the service will be automatically deactivated.
But you will be notified about this in advance: after 11 months, you will receive an SMS reminder, and three weeks later, a second reminder (a week before the deactivation).
- To avoid this, you can set an automatic reminder: you will receive a message each time you do not synchronize for more than 30 days (link). This will allow you to plan your synchronization at regular times.

How do I deactivate the Mobile Phone Backup service?
If you want to deactivate the service, go to your Mobile Phone Backup account on MyProximus/MyPay&Go.
- Log in.
- Select the "Summary" category in the Mobile Phone Backup service.
- Click "Global account settings."
- On the next page, you can deactivate the service in one click.
If you do not use the service for 12 months, Mobile Phone Backup will be
automatically deactivated.

Where on my phone do I start a synchronization?
- If you want to synchronize your mobile-phone data, the procedure is different for each type of phone. You will find the instructions for your type of phone on MyProximus/MyPay&Go:
- in your Mobile Phone Backup account, go to the "Summary" tab and click "How do I synchronize my phone?"
- If you want to synchronize your SIM data, go to the ProxiMenu/Pay&GoMenu on your mobile phone:
- Select "Mobile Phone Backup" and then "Synchronize."

I can't find my phone in the list of compatible phones, can I still use Mobile Phone Backup?
If the brand of your mobile phone is not on the list, then your phone does not support the Mobile Phone Backup service for saving data on your phone. You can however choose to save your SIM contacts.
